The name Jaguar name was first seen on a 1935 2.5-litre saloon car built by the Swallow Sidecar Company in Holbrooks Lane, Coventry, England. At that time, all of the company’s vehicles used the abbreviation SS, but after World War II, the name of the company and the cars was changed to Jaguar, because SS had too many negative connotations, reminding people of the German SS.
